SPOT FIGHTER

Due to the stress of getting everything set and squared away for the new year and all the chocolate I ate during the past month, I have to take preventative measures to makes sure that my skin doesn't suffer. I have been very strict with my skin care routine (making sure I don't "forget" a step) but some very small blemishes have occurred and here is how I fight them:
For preventative measures and to a make sure my skin stays balanced I used The Body Shop Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion. Now I do not have problematic skin, but I noticed that this just keeps all the small bumps I used to get away and pretty much keeps my skin blemish free. These past couple of months I have tried to go natural with my skin care but I noticed that once I stop using this, my skin doesn't stay as clear as it does when I do. This is a must for me!

I use La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo when those blemishes do come through the skin and it works like magic. It is very drying and I would only use this as a spot treatment as it does make the area dry and flaky after repeated uses. I also use it when I feel a blemish coming on and it does the trick! Definitely the best spot treatment I have ever used!

WHAT I WORE TODAY: CASUAL

Here is a quick post to show you what I wore on this casual day. I really love the contrast from the striped Madewell shirt to the Cheetah Sam Edelman shoes. These are the kinds of outfits I wear on a daily basis as my style is quite casual and you will see me in blue jeans pretty much every single day!

WINTER READS

It's beginning to be that time in winter where it gets too cold to do anything and all I want to do is sit down with a mug of hot chocolate and read a book. This time calls for some good reads so these are the two books on my reading list at the moment.

Eat Pretty- A book showing you how to get that glowing skin that I know I've been lacking recently. I am trying to be healthier this new year, as every new year, and I hope this book helps kick start that plan
The Cuckoo's Calling- I started this book before Christmas and I am really liking it. I am not too far into it but it being a mystery book keeps me guessing every chapter and makes me want to continue reading.

If you want any reviews or thoughts I have on these books after I finish them let me know!
What is on your Christmas reading list?

Ev looks: NEW YEARS EYE

Ev looks: NEW YEARS EYE: Now I know I was supposed to put up a post pre-New Years on what makeup look I was going to wear, but, as you can tell, that did not happen...

NEW YEARS EYE

Now I know I was supposed to put up a post pre-New Years on what makeup look I was going to wear, but, as you can tell, that did not happen. Firstly, due to the holidays, I didn't really think of it. Secondly, I had no clue what makeup look I was going to wear until I put it on my face! You can tell I am very organized...

It was New Years Eve so I definitely had to have some sparkle on my eyes and there is no other palette that I could pack with me that could get a sparkly smokey eye done the New Years Eve way. This palette is  Charlotte Tilbury: The Uptown Girl

1. I primed with the top left which gave me a light shimmer across the lids and the inner corner.
2. I then blended that with with the next shade over on the outer part of the lid and through the crease.
3. I smoked out the whole look with the darkest color in the palette.
4. I kept layering all the colors and smoked out the bottom lash line with the darkest color as well as adding the top left color heavily into the inner corner.
5. Finally, after I got the intensity I wanted with the shadows (lots and lots of blending to get my desired look) I added the bottom left color with my finger and pressed the shade onto the lid.

The texture of these eyeshadows is like no other and they are heavily pigmented but blend like a dream, definitely my favorite texture of eyeshadow.

Even though these are around $50 (WOW) they are really amazing and if you can splurge on an eyeshadow like this I would because they will change your eyeshadow blending life!

Happy 2015!

CHARLOTTE TILBURY LIP CHEAT

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat: Pink Venus

I have seen so many great reviews on the Charlotte Tilbury makeup line and I am testing out a few products right now and I can say that I am loving them. The product I notice myself reaching for the most is the lip cheat in Pink Venus. It really is a "your lips but better" product as it adds a pink flush to the lips as well as making them look fuller. I have been pairing this with a few lipsticks and it really works well with any nude or pink color. This also looks good just on its own filled in through the whole lip. Adding a little bit of gloss on top of this makes my lips look so much fuller that I don't think I will be able to live without it.
I used to find that lip liners really dried out my lips but that is not the case with this product. I wouldn't say that it is hydrating but it is definitely not drying. If you can get your hand on this product you should absolutely get it. It is pricey for a lip liner at $22 but it really is worth the price.

KATE SPADE NECKLACE

Kate Spade New York 'One In A Million" initial pendant necklace

Ever since I saw Lily Pebbles (link below) get this necklace, I knew I had to get it. It is a perfect necklace to add to any look as it just adds a little bit of something to every outfit. I am really into dainty jewelry at the moment, so when I opened up this present from my Mom I was very excited! Even though it has only been a few days since Christmas, I haven't taken it off. It can be worn with any outfit and comes in gold as well. This necklace is definitely going to be worn a lot in the new year.
